Who Am I?

I am a Senior Software Engineer at Altron Systems Integration(5 Years+) working with PL/SQL in Oracle Database Development and MySQL with Aurora in AWS. I'm a very passionate Software engineer with the ability to learn with minimal supervision. I have good team spirit, agile and deadline orientated. I have a Computer Science and Information Systems Degree with Math as a minor which means i have knowledge from both the technical and the business aspect of the technology industry.

I'm looking for a Developer position with an exciting and innovative company that offers room for progression that will allow me to grow in my career in this field and also keep me on my toes in this ever changing industry. I want a structured company that writes software to solve problems, that will allow me to grow as a developer. I learn information quickly so I am still experimental at the moment in terms of languages and tools. During my studies, I used Java and Python and I'd like to continue using those languages going forward and expand my skills.

Career

Started off as a Trainee Developer. I am currently a Software Engineer working on Database Development and AWS RDS Administrator. I work with PLSQL and Oracle database and have been optimising and developing database applications for clients that are contracted with the company(Vodacom). I also played a part in the migration of the company's on prem to cloud, we are currently using the hybrid model. I am also a certified AWS Cloud Practitioner. Being a fresh graduate, here is where i learned and applied some of my university knowledge. I also learned to apply different types of methodologies, from waterfall to agile.

I am looking to leave this position because I feel that I am not getting broad enough exposure to the software engineering industry. I am very passionate about developing my skills as a software engineer and I'd like the opportunity to do so in areas wider than database development alone.

Education

I learned how to perform under intense pressure to meet deadlines and how to deal with different kinds of team mates in group projects. It also provided a deep foundation and preparation for the work industry and intensified my love and curiosity of the technology industry. I learned how to teach myself different languages and stacks to fulfill certain projects and how to have good self discipline.
